This summer we’re making a special effort to get everyone trained and using the university’s calendaring system, Localist. Unlike the previous system, Localist allows you to add your events directly the main university calendar for all to see, allowing for greater visibility of your events and your department. You can also apply tags and filters to your events that will allow you to create feeds to add to any web page, so that upcoming events automatically appear on your site — it’s an easy way to keep your site looking up-to-date. But what’s really great about Localist is that it’s a social tool that allows users to set up profiles, share events on Facebook, and see what events your friends are attending.
