Amanda supports academic communications for the Provost’s Office and the Academic Affairs Division, and provides communication assistance when members of the academic communications team are on leave for extended periods. Amanda brings a wealth of experience and education that accentuates and spotlights LMU’s academic excellence; supports the broad array of offices and centers in Academic Affairs; and coordinates strategic communications to keep the university community informed of the crucial work being done in this area.
Amanda previously served as associate director and director of communications for the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s English Department, and communications graduate assistant for UW-Madison’s Multicultural Student Center. She has also served as an instructor of composition, focusing on digital media and rhetoric for first-year students.
Amanda has a Ph.D. in American literature. Born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley, Amanda was excited to return to her hometown of Los Angeles. In her free time, she enjoys reading, seeing live music, trying new restaurants, bouldering, and doting on her two cats, Miso and Yuzu.
