Fred Puza leads the university’s community relations programs to cultivate, enhance and steward relationships with local and regional community organizations, elected officials and community leaders to elevate the university’s reputation and advance LMU’s strategic interests. He works with neighbors, local businesses, and other identified stakeholders to promote a positive institutional image that extends the university’s brand narratives and increases positive engagement.
Puza joined LMU Marketing and Communications in 2005 as writer/editor and social media coordinator until moving to the role of communications and recruitment specialist for the Graduate Division in 2013. Additionally, Puza has served as an LMU resident minister since 2016, was president of LMU’s Staff Senate and is also a general plan advisory committee member for the city of Culver City. Puza earned his B.A. in theater arts from California State University, Fullerton, and his master’s degree in English literature from LMU.
