Griff leads media relations and communication strategies. He develops tactics to enhance the university’s reputation, increase visibility, reinforce our brand narrative, and drive engagement with key audiences.

Griff brings more than 12 years of experience in corporate communications and a passion for team building. He is eager to elevate LMU’s profile, showcase its people and students, and advance its mission of education and service. Previously, he was a director in the corporate practice at Weber Shandwick, where he led communications strategies for higher education clients such as Harvard Business School Executive Education, MIT, Arizona State University, UGA School of Law, and edX. He specialized in integrated media strategy, executive visibility, thought leadership, and narrative development to refine voice, value propositions, and storytelling for corporate, nonprofit, and higher education organizations.

Before rejoining Weber Shandwick in 2020, Griff served as communications manager at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. He led day-to-day communications, and launched groundbreaking exhibitions emphasizing audience engagement and digital storytelling.

Griff is a 2010 graduate of the University of Dayton, where he earned degrees in English and Communications.

Outside of work, Griff enjoys cooking with his wife, spoiling his dog, golf, exploring new venues for shows and music in Los Angeles, and talking about food — or even the stolen Rembrandts and Vermeers from the Gardner Museum!
